All Michigan Rag Co. clothing is handprinted in Grand Haven, Michigan using the centuries old silkscreen method which is much like stenciling.

A stencil is applied to a polyester fabric mesh stretched over a rigid rectangular frame.

Ink is then pushed with a squeegee through the open areas of the stencil. This produces an image on the fabric or garment. A different screen is used for each color of a design.

The printed fabric is put through a curing oven making the colors washable.
